Utilizing WFH Efficiently

Being a mom of 2 young kids and a full time working professional, proper time management is highly imperative for me to utilize the WFH duration during COVID efficiently. This WFH is not a normal one, now the kids too are schooling from home. Optimistically, this is the right time for any self improvement if planned and utilized in the correct way.

Few tips for better time management and best utilization of COVID WFH:

In the work front:

   * Start the official hours as BAU or little earlier if at all young toddler's online class has to be accompanied during official hours.

   * Take the usual short breaks, socialize with people around.

   * Avoid Social Media to during working hours as like in office. There are enough distractions while WFH, nothing additional in form of social media to bring down productivity.

   * Respect and Value the time of fellow team members, invite only the needed for the meetings, have short meetings.

   *  Stay motivated and do the best to motivate the team.

On the personal side (behind the thin line of office and home):

   * Wake up a little early so that house hold chores are done early.

   * Ensure to practice daily exercise or yoga, to stay in an active lifestyle.

   * Awake the kids in their usual time so that their normal schedule is not altered and they go to bed early as usual.

   * Utilize and plan online classes for kids in the right way so that they develop additional skills and avoid being infront of TV.

    * Buy books of kids interest.

Being a full time working professional for few long years, to be at home all the time is not so easy.  There is no coffee breaks, no social interactions. Develop a hobby to overcome this stress, could be a redemption attempt as like my blogging and drawing! So where is the time for this ?

Here it comes: Average time to get ready and commute to office in a normal day is usually 1.30 hrs to 2 hrs. That time is pretty enough to plan a lot:

5 working days a week, which gives between 7 to 10 hours to spare now. Which means,

     * Atleast 5 more hrs extra for the kids.

     * Rest 4 to 6 hrs: 50% for self improvement to learn something new and 50% of me time, to develop a hobby of your interest - kids too will join there. My kids draw and paint with me!

     * Once during the working days, cook something different interesting which the kids love.

     * Involve the kids in household chores those are safe and doable to the  kids (based on their age), they have a lot of time now! This will help a lot while returning back to normalcy.

BE OPTIMISTIC, HAPPY TIME!
